People are getting crabby.

There are a lot of Domestics Disturbances going on.   

Lots and Lots.

Cops hate them…

Domestic Violence calls are one of the most dangerous/unpredictable calls.

That is why two Officers are required to go to each call.

Many times drugs and alcohol are involved.

According to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), domestic violence is a serious, preventable public health problem that affects more than 32 million Americans. This number only reflects the number of cases that are reported; it’s estimated that in the United States, as many as one third of domestic

 violence cases are never reported.

Domestic violence occurs when a family member, partner, or ex-partner attempts to physically or psychologically dominate the victim.

It is so frustrating because many abused people… (men get abused too !) go back time and time again.   WHY ???   Many times the police are very familiar with the same people over and over.

Abuse victims will "leave out of either fear, anger or resentment” . But then, after the fear, anger or resentment begins to subside, they feel guilt, shame, anxiety, and that takes them back."

PFA’s were meant to be a good thing… but many times it

causes more rage and violence; as we have just seen concerning the

 murder on Dana Street last week.

What can be done ?

Seems to me that the best thing to do is to not get involved with

an abuser in the first place.

O.K. I’ll say it.. Girls are dumb.

They often mistake possessiveness, control

and jealousy as love.

They feel flattered at first.. Then the abuse begins slowly.

Talk to your kids about it !

It is still one of the “Taboo’ subjects in many households.  

Abusive men are often survivors of abuse themselves.

Signs of an abusive man can range from emotional, verbal,

physical, or sexual abuse.

Well here we go.. seems like just about every night lately the police scanner is quiet then Wham.. something OUTRAGEOUS  happens.

Just now.. 2:15 a.m.  137 River Street a woman woke up to find a man burglarizing her home. He took off with her Laptop, camera and cigarettes.

Now.. 3:35 a.m. 4 gun shots in the area of Sherman Hills. Wilkes- Barre Twp. Police called it in.

You come out of a store

and your car is gone!

You think .. OMG !

You are in a state of confusion for a minute.

You look around .. no car.

First thing you do is call 911.

The police arrive and they ask you the make and model.

Your good .. you know that.

Then the question comes……….

Do you know your license plate ?

What ?

Chances are you don’t.

This was one of the questions I asked at all 14 Crime Watch meetings last year and

 a good number  of people did not know. 

I have to be honest, lots more men knew than women.

The faster the Police get the word

out about your stolen car

the better the chances are that they find it.

They usually put out a “Be On the Look Out “ as soon as they can.  But, if you don’t know your license plate they have to take precious time to run a “ All vehicles Owned” through 911.

                       So learn it

If your memory is bad, at least have it written

 down in your wallet or purse

that you have with you.

This is not crime related but, it is a crime to be sick from side effects of prescription drugs and be unaware of it.

If you or anyone you know are taking Statin Drugs for High Cholesterol

 and are suffering from leg or muscle pain

 PLEASE stop them !

Many times the damage is irreversible!

You may not link the pain with the drug.

Tell your doctor.

 There are many alternatives you can use.

Statin Drugs only lower LDL ( bad cholesterol ) not your

HDL or Triglycerides.

Check your numbers.

Alternatives are Milk Thistle which will improve liver function, Red Yeast Rice and a good garlic pill such as Garlique.

I just keep hearing horror stories from family and friends

 about the side effects.

way too cold for even criminals.

Turkey Hills getting hit.

 The other night some goof got a taxi from his home

 and robbed a Turkey Hill !

Bad move moron.

Kiss a cop… got ya !

Then late tonight… some poor fool left their car running and went into a Day Care on

North Main Street and guess what …

 Car gone !

I see it so many times. Car running, purse and

 valuables left in car.

People actually think it won’t happen to them.

Any cop will tell you that car theft is

 usually a crime of opportunity.

Another Overdose death.. young man 28 years old.

It is heartbreaking to the family and friends.

Many times they have tried desperately to help the addicted person.

You feel so helpless.

It is hard for anyone never addicted to understand how powerful these drugs are.

It was explained to me by a drug and alcohol councilor and I finally got it….

I take a drug called Synthroid because my thyroid wasn’t working right. Now that I am taking it , my thyroid completely shut down because it doesn’t have to work.  

I need this drug to function properly.

Well, when people start taking drugs like Heroin their body stops producing “feel good”  hormones.

 Eventually, because the brain recognizes that these pleasure hormones are being introduced into the brain rather than made by the body itself, the body stops producing its own hormones.

The addict then must shoot up heroin in order to just to feel normal.

 PLAINS TWP. – The Plains Township Zoning Board on Monday heard testimony from those who support the Salvation Army opening an adult rehabilitation center and warehouse at the former Valley Crest Nursing Home.

“Krueger asked if the program admission criteria changed after it was learned that two former program participants had committed murders in Wilkes-Barre sometime after leaving the program. One of the murders was that of 85-year-old Mary Leo in 2005.”

My opinion is biased ….

 Mary Leo was a

family member.

Nothing GOOD will come out of this !

Got a call.. I always get calls.

From a bunch of neighbors in the Iron Triangle section of town.

They were upset and disgusted about this fellow and his

buds that are selling drugs .

He’s got a rap sheet as long as my arm .. and guess what..

He is on probation!

Again!

 He went to jail a few times but gets out rather quickly and continues on.

It is so frustrating to the neighbors and police.

We MUST start being more aware of what is happening in

 the criminal justice system.

We have to get tough Judges in Office and get rid of the weak ones.

I don’t wanna know this stuff… but I think it is time to learn.

Our Police know.

Ask them.

1/16-2:10PM - 31 Henry Street, break-in to residence. Copper pipes
